Do You Need to File an FBAR?

Answer these questions to determine if you need to file.

What is the FBAR?

If you are a U.S. person and the combined value of all your foreign financial accounts was more than $10,000 at any point during the year, you are required to file a Report of Foreign Bank and Financial Accounts (FBAR) with FinCEN. This includes bank accounts, brokerage accounts, mutual funds, and other financial accounts held outside the United States.

During 2025, did you have a financial interest in, or signature authority over, any financial accounts in a foreign country?
